New Titanfall 2 Single Player Campaign Details & Trailer Surface

New Titanfall 2 Single Player Campaign Details & Trailer Surface Developer Respawn Entertainment is offering players a closer look at Titanfall 2‘s single player campaign with new details and a cinematic teaser trailer.

Although Titanfall’s multiplayer element showed a lot of promise and offered hours of entertainment to players, many considered the title half a game. Without a true single player campaign, Titanfall narrowed its reach and in turn struggled to keep up with titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield.
With Titanfall 2, however, developer Respawn Entertainment is going for broke, in more ways than one. For starters, the sequel will be available on all current-gen platforms, which widens the game’s reach right off the bat. But more than that, Titanfall 2 will also feature a true single player campaign, not a version of the game’s multiplayer with bots.
At a recent event at Respawn Entertainment, the Titanfall 2 developer offered a closer look at the game’s single player campaign. The demonstration featured multiple sections of the campaign, meant to show that this is more in line with players’ hopes than what was offered in the first game.
Among the standout elements of note were a decided change in tone for the campaign, which follows Pilot Jack Cooper and his Titan BT-7274. Unlike the Titan/Pilot relationship featured in the multiplayer, the campaign adds a much-needed dose of humor to the proceedings, as Jack and BT explore the environments. In a way, the campaign is a buddy movie centered on a solider and his newly found robot.

According to the hands-on previews, enemy encounters in Titanfall 2 will also be focused on open areas, wherein players can take advantage of the movement options available to Pilots. These areas area also big enough to support Titans and a handful of other enemy types, but obviously the focus in the campaign is on guiding players towards a specific goal. Again, the campaign is not a series of multiplayer modes masquerading as story progression.
To better illustrate that point, Respawn and publishers EA have released a new Titanfall 2 trailer that’s focused on the campaign. In it, gamers can see that there is a story to Titanfall 2 and there are fully fleshed out characters. Check out the Titanfall 2 single player trailer below:

Clearly Respawn Entertainment is going for a more cinematic feel with its upcoming Titanfall 2 campaign, but the verdict is still out until gamers can go hands-on with the experience. Unfortunately, that will have to wait until the game launches in October, at least as far as the single player campaign is concerned.
Titanfall 2’s multiplayer, on the other hand, is slated to hold a technical test at some point before launch, so it could be only a few weeks ago. Eager gamers can sign up for a chance to try out the Titanfall 2 multiplayer here.
Titanfall 2 releases October 28, 2016 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
